Chapter Fifteen:

Chapter fifteen begins just moments after our heir Emerald and her friend Tyler, took their relationship to the next level. (Might I just make a note here: if you don't feel comfortable with the relationship that Tyler and Emerald have begun, I'm going to suggest that you return to the forums on the Sims 3 website, or where ever you have come from.)

Emerald was shocked that Tyler had kissed her. All thoughts were driven from her mind as she pondered what  to do next.

Tyler told Emerald her feelings and waited with baited breath while Emerald formed her response.

Luckily for Tyler, Emerald had noticed the spark between them also.

As confused as Emerald had become, she knew that Tyler made her happy. Happier still than Cody had ever made her, and so she decided to do what felt right.

Tyler moved in to Emerald's room. There was no official declaration of a relationship, and so this new development was not public knowledge.

But the girls were happy together, nonetheless.

Emerald's pregnancy continued to advance, she continued to sketch and she began to worry. She worried about Tyler. What would her family think? What would they say? How would she tell them?

Tyler, on the other hand, wasn't plagued by such fears. She was finally happy with who she was. She had finally found someone who she truly loved, and she would do anything to be with Emerald, and to make her happy. So all she needed was a quick email to her father over in Sunset Valley to tell him she was coming out, and she was done with it.

Not wanting to pressure her would-be girlfriend, Tyler allowed Emerald time to come to terms with this new definition of herself. The months began rolling past and the girls enjoyed eachother's company.

Emerald still worried. She knew what she felt for Tyler, but things were so complicated with her right now. She was young, pregnant and now she had to figure out how to tell the world she was gay. Why wasn't life simple?

Luckily for Emerald, Tyler was understanding. She told Emerald that she would be there in whatever sense Emerald needed, before and after the baby was born.

The baby was growing so fast. Emerald got a few calls from Cody, but she rejected them all. His chance was gone, it was going to be just her and her child. And possibly Tyler too.

From all appearances, the relationship between these girls was a little messed up. One girl was pregnant with some dead beat's baby, unwilling to admit to the world, let alone herself, that she was gay and the other was completely at peace with who she was and was willing to spend her life with someone who wasn't sure she would commit.

The due date loomed. And Emerald knew she needed to act, and fast. Coming out to her family was her plan. She had to tell the world that she loved Tyler and that she wanted to spend her life with her. And whatever anyone else thought they would raise this baby together.

Tyler did what she could to help Emerald. The baby meant that she tired easily now, and so Tyler took over the reigns of the house, to allow Emerald to relax in the last few weeks of the pregnancy.

Tyler was getting a little restless. It had been nearly 8 months now since she came out and declared that she wanted to spend her life with Emerald. However her girlfriend had made no similar statement, and so Tyler was getting a little fed up of the delay.

An argument raged.

Tyler shouted at Emerald about how she was being led on and hurt everyday that Emerald refused to admit who she was. Emerald argued that it was going to take time, it wasn't as easy for Emerald as it had been for Tyler.

After they both cooled down, the girls made up. Both apoligised and they moved on from the argument. Tyler knew that no matter how long it took, Emerald would realise that life with Tyler was what she wanted.

While they were looking for the room for the nursery Emerald told Tyler that she had decided to make it official. She was going to come out to her family as soon as she was able.

Tyler was happy with the news. She headed off to work, where she was a receptionist at the spa, the next day, completely over the moon with Emerald.

Just after Emerald said goodbye to Tyler for the day she felt a great pain through her stomach. Emerald's plans to come out to her family would have to wait; the baby was on the way.

Emerald retreated to her drawing room, hoping she'd have time to call Tyler before the baby arrived. But Tyler was too busy to answer her phone, so Emerald decided to wait out the labour in the comfort of her own home.

Before long her little bundle of joy Lexi Summer-Moon was born.

Emerald barely had time to lay her daugher in the crib before she gave birth to another little girl. Nora Summer-Moon was an unexpected surprise, but one that Emerald was so happy with.

Her little daughters were the best things Emerald had ever done in her life. She was so happy.

Tyler raced home as soon as she got Emerald's messages. Her stomach was full of butterflies. Which felt more like giant bats. As Tyler raced home she hoped that Emerald was alright, the babies were well and selfishly, she hoped that Emerald hadn't changed her mind about her feelings for Tyler.

The old master bedroom had been made over for the girls and Tyler gave her girlfriend a big comforting hug the second she walked into the house. And Tyler needn't have worried about Emerald's feelings, she was just as sure about her feelings as ever.

The babies were so small and so perfect. Tyler's maternal instincts kicked in and knew that these little girls would have the love and support of two mothers.

Emerald was so glad that Tyler was there. They took to raising the girls together.

Now that she had given birth, Emerald decided not to wait a moment longer. She took the bus over to Bridgeport one afternoon when Tyler was home to watch the girls. It was time for Emerald to tell her family about her daughters and Tyler.

It had been ages since Emerald had seen Layla and Derek, and was surprised to be greeted by her half brother, now a child, at the front door. Derek greeted her politely and invited her inside. Emerald wasn't sure how Layla would recieve the news, after all Emerald had changed a lot since her step-mother had last seen her.

Emerald got caught up on the news since Elijah and Layla had left Twinbrook. Elijah was a chef in one of the top resturants in Bridgeport, and with a different hot young thing every night, he was doing quite well. Layla had given birth a few months after leaving, to twin girls Ginger, and Eliza who had inherited her grandmother's blue hair. Life was good for Emerald's step-mother, and although she was still grieving for Eddie, she was content with where she was.

Emerald told her family about her daughters. Layla and Elijah congratulated her and expressed their wishes to see the girls when they were a little older. However telling them that she was gay, was quite a challenge. But luckily for Emerald Layla and Elijah, however surprised they were, told her they hoped she and Tyler were happy and that was all that mattered.

The news had been shared, and the hour was late. So Emerald bid her goodbyes to her step-mother and her brother, and she headed back up to Twinbrook, with a promise to see them again soon.
The doubts that had plagued her for the last 9 months were finally eased and Emerald was happier than she had ever been in her life.

Tyler enjoyed her new role as mother. The girls were not biologicaly hers, but in every other sense of the word, she was their mum.

Soon it was Tyler's birthday. Leaving behind her young adult days, Tyler was looking forward to her days as an adult.

Now that Emerald was at peace with who she was, she and Tyler were happier than ever.

As the months began to fly past Emerald and Tyler were blissfully happy. Tyler left her job at the spa so she could help Emerald raise Lexi and Nora. Who, while adorable, were quite a handful.

Emerald loved motherhood. She had been the rock of her household growing up, and she was enjoying this time in her life.

The girls were growing every day. Nora and Lexi looked remarkably the same, and Emerald was so very proud of her small daughters.

Very soon it was their birthday.

Lexi had inherited her wayward grandmother Chloe's blonde hair and Nora had inherited her mother's brown hair.

Tyler and Emerald began to talk about the future. They were both so happy raising the girls together, but Tyler knew that if anything happened to Emerald, the girls would be taken away and given to Emerald's brother rather than leave them with their other mum. And while Tyler didn't know Elijah very well, she knew that he probably wouldn't be a good influence on her daughters. A plan began to form in Tyler's mind.

And whatever the laws said, Tyler was the girls' mum. The kids were still too young to understand their unusual situation, but Tyler was getting prepared for an eventual explanation.

The girls were learning so quickly. And Tyler loved spending time with her girls.

Tyler was making plans to ensure that her girls would remain with her if, God forbid, something should happen to Emerald. All she needed now was a good place to pop the question.

The girls were so important to Emerald and she was thankful every day that she had been blessed with them. Motherhood suited Emerald, she had spent years 'raising' her brother and helping her father, and now these skills were put to the real test everyday.

After the girls were put to bed one night Tyler came into Emerald's drawing room to have a talk. After telling her girlfriend how much she meant to her, Tyler reached into her back pocket and fished out a ring.

With a big grin on her face Tyler asked her best friend to marry her. Emerald was stunned and immediately said yes.

Stuff the judgements of the small minded, Tyler and Emerald were getting married.

Tyler did her best to explain to the girls that their mummies were getting hitched, but it didn't really sink in.

Emerald decided that she wanted their girls to be present at the wedding, and so she set the date far enough away to allow the girls to be old enough fully understand the ceremony.

Tyler and Emerald began planning their wedding. They talked about who would be present. Emerald wanted her family to be there, and because Tyler's father had recently passed away, they would probably be the only guests.

As the weeks turned into months, the wedding date loomed ever closer. And both Emerald and Tyler were quite looking forward to defying the narrow minded residents in Twinbrook that seemed to disagree with these two marrying.

And after what seemed like only a few days, it was time for Lexi and Nora's birthday.

Lexi looked so much like her mother, despite having inherited Chloe's blonde hair. Raven's otherworldly appearance was still evident in her great-grand children.

And Nora proved that the girls were indeed twins. Aside from having different colour hair, the girls were identical.

Emerald got Nora a toy kitchen, and nearly immediately Nora fell in love with the cooking and creating new things. She had an inate ability to put odd ingredients together to create some amazing dishes.

And finally the moment Tyler had been waiting for. Lexi and Nora asked Tyler about their two mothers. She kept no secrets from her daughters: Emerald was their biological mother, and once she had fallen pregnant with the girls she and Tyler had fallen in love. These girls knew how lucky they were to have both mums. It was simple and girls began getting excited for the wedding.

The girls shared the old master bedroom. It was comforting for the girls to sleep opposite each other.

And upstairs in Emerald and Tyler's room, Emerald was mentally preparing for their impending wedding.

The small family enjoyed their time together. The pool was the perfect place for an afternoon kicking back under the sun.

And here we shall end Chapter Fifteen. Thanks for reading everyone! And you can get a review in on Dark Side of the Moon over here.
