Chapter One:

Welcome to Chapter One. Leave me a comment, I'd love to hear what you all think!

Raven Moon was pretty nervous about starting her new life. But it was infinitely better than the life she had left behind. As she walked up the stone path to her cute little cottage, Raven thought about everything she left behind and everything she hoped to accomplish here in Twinbrook. Her one aim was to be surrounded by family.

A quick look at her little cottage. Nice and small inside; a kitchen, bedroom, living room and dining room all rolled into one, with a bathroom off to the side and a cute little courtyard out the back. It was the one thing that Raven had really looked for when choosing her house, she needed a courtyard outside.

Raven was quite a good sculptor and most of her time was spent outside in her new courtyard with her sculpting tools and a big slab of wood or stone. It kept her calm in her strange surroundings and made it easier for her to cope with such a big change.

Raven soon settled into life in this strange place. As much as she might have been missing everything that she left behind, Raven still stuck to her decision as the days turned into weeks and life settled in.

Although she was quite shy, Raven did not want to be a recluse living forever on the edges of town, unable to join in the community. One afternoon Raven gathered her nerves and went to her next door neighbours house. If Raven had talked to the locals, she may not have chosen this particular house. But lucky for her, she did.

Raven was greeted by Finn Summer. Quite a handsome young man, with striking yellow eyes. Raven, who was not all that familiar with the behaviours and appearance of regular sims, was none the wiser to the fact that this household was the home of the Queen of the Undead and her son. Finn was instantly smitten with this blue beauty and invited her inside, out of the harsh sun.

Finn's mother, who Raven remarked still looked remarkable young, was wary of the young blue girl, but left her son to it. Finn and Raven chatted for a few hours, just getting to know one another. As the afternoon wore on Raven found herself drawn to Finn's sweet smile and his sparkling yellow eyes.

Before Raven left that afternoon, Maggie decided to properly introduce herself. Raven was intimidated by this strong woman and her hard eyes. Maggie had seen many things, and although she was well over 100 now she had never seen such piercing blue eyes nor had she seen her son so happy. Instead of warning the quiet young girl to stay away from her son, Maggie cooly welcomed her to the town.

Raven continued to spend her days at her scultping station. But her thoughts remained with the striking yellow eyes of her neighbour. As the days went on Raven found herself imagining those eyes more and more.

Finn and Raven talked as often as they could. Finn rose late in the day, and Raven went to bed much earlier than this Prince of the Undead, so they generally only had a couple of hours. But they made the most of it, talking every night on the phone. Raven did not know what her new friend really was, but she was content knowing that he was special.

Finn knew his mother disproved of his friendship with Raven, but he defied her anyway and would visit Raven when he knew Maggie was distracted. These unexpected and late night visits from Finn were the highlight of Raven's week and she found her self unexpectedly falling for him.

Little did Raven know that Finn was feeling the same way. They shared their first kiss that night, in Raven's tiny kitchen. For Finn, who's age was estimated to be just over 100, this was his first kiss and he knew in that moment that he would spend his life trying to make this blue beauty as happy as she made him.

That night, after Finn snuck home again, Raven made a similar silent pact with herself. She knew she would spend her life with this beautiful man. When she had come to this small town Raven had no idea that she could ever feel a love this strong.

The days turned into weeks and the weeks into months. Raven and Finn continued to carry on their romance at night, and Raven spent her days sculpting odd bits and pieces.

With a new spring in her step Raven started venturing out of her cottage and into the town.

Spending time getting to know the locals meant that Raven had a better understanding of why they generally avoided her boyfriend and his icy mother. Although no one told her outright that they were vampires, the hints and meaningful looks from the ignorant locals began to get on Raven's nerves and she stopped asking them about Finn.

And thus ends Chapter One.  Leave me a comment and let me know what you all think! I'd love any ideas for future twists and I'd really like to know what sort of length chapter people prefer, longer, shorter or the same as this? Thanks for reading!
