Chapter Three:

Welcome to Chapter three. See the above link Chapter List to catch up. We begin this chapter about a week after Finn and his mother Maggie moved in with Raven.

Maggie and Raven were by no means best friends. Maggie disapproved of Raven's influence on her son and Raven was downright terrified of the cool woman living under her cottage. They avoided each other where possible, but did cross paths occasionally.

Raven and Finn were in a world all their own. Completely engrossed in their love for eachother, nothing else mattered.

Late one night, right before Raven was off to bed, Finn popped the question. A beautiful clear diamond twinkled at Raven from the hands of her beloved Finn. She barely waited for him to ask before accepting.

The engaged couple were happier than ever as the weeks flew by. They began to plan out their wedding, knowing it would take at least 6 months to a year to save up enough money. But that didn't matter to them, they had to rest of their lives together.

While Finn was happier than ever with his blue beauty his mother was trying to get a similar new lease on life. Realising she was getting in the way of her son's happiness with his new fiance, Maggie decided to find a hobby to keep her occupied. She spent most of her days working out, both cardio and strength training.

Raven was out and about in the town most days, doing odd sculpting jobs for the locals and their businesses. But on her way home one night she was overcome by nausea.

Raven's first thought was bad seafood. But given the fact that she hadn't eaten seafood since moving to Twinbrook, her thoughts then turned to new life. Raven was pregnant.

Raven told Finn the next morning as she did the breakfast dishes. They were both so happy and eager to meet the new life growing in Raven's belly.

That night as his fiance slept in their small cottage, Finn decided to head out and see what sort of money he could bring into the household.

The local graveyard provided the perfect part time job for the sun sensitive vampire. The pay was next to nothing, but the hours were short and that was enough for now.

Finn decided to wait to tell his mother about the baby. He wanted Raven to be a few more months along before setting his mother loose on the topic.

But Maggie was smarter than Finn remembered, and she had already guessed. Instead of being disapproving she was over the moon at the prospect of being a grandmother.

Raven was a little worried about what this baby would look like. Would it inherit her blue skin and hair? Or her fiance's curse? These thoughts made sleep a little difficult for the expecting mother.

Finn also shared the same worries as his blue beauty. His greatest wish for this child was that it was free from the curse of the vampire. As the baby grew the pair tried their hardest to forget their worries and prepared for their much anticipated baby.

Maggie thawed a little towards her soon to be daughter-in-law. She was just as excited as Raven and Finn for the birth of the baby. As the months wore on, Maggie was much nicer to Raven, providing support for the young mum.

As pregnant as she was, Raven continued to work hard at her sculpting station. She sold most of her creations so they had enough for the baby's arrival. The wedding was put on hold until after the baby's birth.

As the due date loomed closer, Raven was still plagued by worrying thoughts about the life her little one would face. It seemed like impossible odds that the baby would be born with the appearance of it's father but completely clear from the curse Finn faced.

As Raven was easily tired, so close to her due date, Finn and his fiance spent most days resting in bed. Raven was filled with an immense sense of peace as she was held by the love of her life as they awaited the biggest change in their lives.

As her son and his girl were in a world all their own above her, Maggie continued with her work outs. She had finally, after a good century or so, regained her pre-baby body. And boy, was she looking hot!

One morning, upon hearing her son's cries Maggie raced upstairs to see Raven rushing out the door to a waiting taxi. Finn hugged his mother and raced after Raven and his baby. Maggie settled in for a long wait for her son to return with her grandchild.

Finn braved the harsh sun to take Raven to the hospital as the pains of labour began.

As Raven calmly walked from the taxi to the hospital her sun sensitive fiance raced forward, clearing the way very effectively.

Calmly walking into the hospital, Raven and Finn were secretly terrified. What challenges would their much loved child have to face? Soon all thoughts were chased away by the difficult birth to follow.

After what seemed an eternity, Raven emerged from the hospital carrying her new born son, William Summer-Moon.
